FAQ

  • Where can I spectate from? Boats start from 11am on the Saturday from Horning Sailing Club (please note the HSC car park is only for competitors and race officials on race weekend, there is limited parking for spectators around horning village). The best viewing places after that are Potter Heigham and Acle and near Ludham Bridge throughout the afternoon and evening.
  • Can I drop my boat off early/leave it after the race? Generally, boats can be dropped off either in the carpark or moored on the HSC island from the Thursday before the race and until the Monday following. Where possible please more larger cruisers stern on along the front of the club and smaller keelboats and dinghies in the side dykes.
  • When will entries open for next year? Applications for the next Three Rivers Race will open in the new year (early January). Entries close late April, there are only a certain number of spots so get your entry in early to be sure you have a place!
  • Can I hire a boat for the race? Yes, a number of local yards (Martham Boats, Eastwood Whelpton and Hunters Yard) offer a selection of half deckers and some cabin yachts that can be hired for the race. Please contact the boatyards directly for enquiries, entry requirements are the same as for your own boat.
  • Can I camp onsite/stay in Horning? Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate camping on the HSC island or carpark over race weekend. There are a number of B&Bs available in the village, as well as camping sites within a short drive.
